TESTIMONIALS

Since establishing the program in 1999 LOT has had over 1400 students and 600 Mentors participate making it one of the most recognized student mentorship programs in British Columbia.

Here is what some of our past participants have had to say:

"As a liberal arts graduate, I knew I needed more than just a degree to establish myself in Vancouver's business community.  LOT helped me gain a competitive edge by connecting me to a remarkable group of extraordinary peers and successful community leaders.  My network now includes some of Vancouver's most promising young talent along with internationally renowned business leaders.  Through LOT, I've gained the confidence, savvy, and support to help me navigate - and excel in - any business situation I will face as a young professional."

Victoria Tang, UBC

"The Leaders of Tomorrow Mentorship Program has been of great benefit to me both personally and professionally. I have attended various events and spoken extensively with both the Mayor of Vancouver (Gregor Robertson) and the Premier of British Columbia (Gordon Campbell). I have contributed to the Down Town Eastside Task Force where we presented a project connecting education to some of their current issues. I have greatly appreciated the ongoing support of my mentor who has been incredibly generous with his time and provided me with insight and ideas about how I can pursue my future aspirations."

Sasha Ramnarine, SFU

"I am thoroughly enjoying my experience in the Leaders of Tomorrow Program and am meeting some fantastic people in the process. I strongly recommend this program to anyone who is serious about taking their education to the next level and expanding their professional network. My involvement in the Leaders of Tomorrow Program has complimented my academic development. So far I have met regularly with my mentor, volunteered with the Economic Development Committee and attended some outstanding Board of Trade Events."

Brent Charleton, BCIT

"So far, my experience in the LOT program has been nothing short of fantastic. I have been able to connect with a mentor in my industry (Human Resources), Sharlie Niessen, Manager of Employee Relations at London Drugs. She has given me tons of great insights into what the real working world will be like, including assisting me through my final practicum project. In addition, I have attended some excellent VBOT events that have helped me out on school projects and day to day working life. Volunteering on the recruitment committee has been a great experience that is directly relatable to my area of education, and allowed me the opportunity to brush up on my presentation skills. I am so glad I made the commitment to LOT, it has paid off tenfold in what I have gained and what I have been able to do for others."
