Members of The Vancouver Board of Trade’s Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Mentorship Program hosted the annual Speed Networking Night on January 19th at the TC Lions Pub in downtown Vancouver. The event was attended by over 75 LOT Mentors and Students with the goal of making some positive new connections.

After a quick mixer, guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks provided by beverage sponsor Alexander Keith’s (www.keiths.ca) before receiving their instructions for the evening. Guest were given an overview of positive networking and how to help those they meet then instructed to find a partner that they did not know. The theme of the night was five: five minutes were spent to get to know one’s partner, then each team was given five minutes to meet and get to know another team. Everyone rotated a total of five times, resulting in at least ten new connections by the end of the night.

The evening wrapped up with some outstanding door prizes generously donated by Labatt, Downtown U-Lok Mini Storage and several other Vancouver Board of Trade members. LOT would like to recognize the Speed Networking Night organizers: Courtney Lange, Alyson Shave, and Laura Stevenson who worked hard to put the evening together.
