Karts 4 Kids – Grand Prix

The 5th Annual Karts for Kids Grand Prix was a huge success attracting dozens of teams and raising thousands of dollars for Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation. Every year with the support of sponsors, participants, and volunteers, Starlight hosts a fundraising Go-Kart race to support seriously ill children and their families. This year’s event raise over $8000 which will go towards Starlight initiatives like Great Escapes, Hospital Happenings and Wish Granting.

The Leaders of Tomorrow Program entered a team in this year’s race and had three dedicated volunteers helping to organize the function over several months. Cathy Der, Allison Louie, and Kirsten Short worked behind the scenes to organize and promote the race which has grown in popularity each year.

For more than 20 years, Starlight Children’s Foundation has committed itself to improving the quality of life for children with cronic and life threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries by providing entertainment, education and family activities that help them cope with the pain, fear and isolation of prolonged illness.
