Applications & Interviews

Q: What are the benefits of attending the speed interviews?
A: Students attending the speed interviews get priority for acceptance into the LOT program as well as the opportunity to get a head start on networking with their peers and LOT mentors for the upcoming year.
Q: I can’t make it to the speed interviews, what can I do?
A: Please follow-up and email us and if your reason for not attending is valid, we will arrange for a phone interview instead.
Q: How will I know that my application has been accepted for the next round?
A: If your online application has successfully passed the first selection, you will be invited for an interview.
Q: When are the interviews being held?
A: Interviews are held in June or July of each year.
Q: What is the interview format?
A: The format of the interview is a “speed-dating” mimic. Candidates and interviewers sit at a table and after a certain amount of time interviewers switch tables to meet a new selection of candidates. This is a great interviewing format because, as a result, each candidate is interviewed by many different interviewers, and each interviewer meets almost all the candidates. Candidates are asked questions based on the four pillars of LOT (leadership, networking, mentorship, volunteering) and are scored by an average of the interviewers’ scores.
Q: Are you looking only for business students?
A: No, students from all disciplines are invited to apply.
Q: How do you match the mentors with the mentees?
A: We take into consideration several criteria: field of study, hobbies, interests, location. We are eager to fit you with the best possible match.
Q: Can I choose my mentor?
A: You can request a current mentor; however, we can’t always guarantee the match.
Q: How often do I meet my mentor?
A: The times and locations will be determined between you and your mentor. We simply request that you meet at least 20 hours over the course of LOT.
