Mentee / Student Information
Much like a school course, we ask all LOT Participants to meet certain requirements in order to complete the program. The time commitment is 5-15 hours per month and much like a Gym Membership, the more active you are, the more you will benefit.
Here are the basic requirements in order to complete the Leaders of Tomorrow Mentorship Program:
- Attend 5 or more Vancouver Board of Trade events including LOT Orientation and Graduation evenings.
- Meet with your mentor at least five times and track your progress a your log book provided by LOT. The Log Book helps you to set goals prior to your meetings and monitor your progress. These meetings can be in person, over the phone or you can even attend an event together.
- Attend your volunteer committee meetings and report to your LOT Program Executive Team Member. This is a past LOT Grad who will help answer any questions you may have about the program and encourage you along the way.
Those students that complete the requirements will be recognized at the Annual LOT Graduation Function and receive the following:
- A graduation certificate which recognizes your completion and participation in the LOT Program.
- A personalized letter from the Chair and Managing director to help you in your future interviews and pursuits.
- Your name and school on the LOT Graduation Page.
- The opportunity to continue your involvement at the Vancouver Board of Trade with an offer to join the Company of Young Professionals which provides opportunities for your ongoing personal and professional growth.
